Auto Start (start on power up) and Auto Reset
What is Auto Start and Auto Reset ?
Auto Start allows the drive to start automatically on power up without manual intervention.
Auto reset allows the drive to reset a trip automatically without manual intervention.
Caution
Do not activate the automatic start/reset function on any systems whereby this may cause a potentially dangerous situation.
Before Starting
Ensure the motor is commissioned
Ensure terminal connections are connected as required
A run signal must also be provided to the drive for the motor to start
Select Control Mode
Set P-12.0 = 0 : Terminal Control.
Select Terminal Mode Start Function
Set P-30.0 = 1: Auto
Note
The drive will now Automatically Start on power-up providing the following conditions are met :
STO inputs are Closed.
A start signal is already present.
No Fault message is present.
Select Control Mode
Set P-12.0 = 0 : Terminal Control.
Select Terminal Mode Start Function
Set P-30.0 = 1: Auto
Select Auto Reset Attempts
Set P-30-1 = 1 to 5 depending on application requirements.
Warning
When the number of attempts to reset the fault reaches the value set, the drive will need to be power-cycled to reset the counter.
Select Auto-reset delay time
Set P-30.2 = 1 to 60s depending on application requirements. (Default = 20s)
Note
The drive will Automatically reset a drive trip and run providing the following conditions are met :
STO inputs are Closed.
A start signal is already present.
The cause of any fault messages has been cleared.
If the cause of the fault is not cleared and another trip occurs the drive will keep attempting to reset the trip the number of times entered into P-30.1
