Motor Contactor Control Setup
Motor Contactor Control Setup Wiring
Normally the motor contactor is connected to Relay 1 on the drive. By default Relay 1 is set to control the motor contactor.
When connecting your motor contactor to the drive ensure you are using the correct terminals.
Relay 1 supports both an Normally Open (NO) and Normally Closed (NC) configuration.
The ratings for Relay 1 are listed below:
Relay | AC Supply | DC Supply |
|---|---|---|
Relay 1 | N/C = 5A/250VAC N/O = 6A/250VAC | N/C = 5A/30VDC N/O = 6A/30VDC |
Motor Contactor Control Setup Parameters
For the drive to control the motor contactor it must be correctly connected to the drive, details of the connections can be found in the TopicMotor Contactor Control Setup Wiring.
Once the motor contactor is connected the drive must be correctly parameterised.
Motor Contactor Control Function Parameters
Normally the motor contactor is connected to Relay 1 as the Relay can provide 250VAC/30Vdc to drive the motor contactor. Though the 3 other Digital Outputs may be used.
Below are the parameters that need to be set so an Output can control the motor contactor:
Parameter Number | Parameter Name | Units | Default | Available Settings | Access | Change During Run | Scaling | Size (Bytes) | CAN Register | CAN Sub Index | Modbus Register |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
P1-15 | DA1 Digital Output 1 Function Select | N/A | 1: Drive Healthy | 0 ... 20 | RW | Y | N/A | 1 | 2073h | 0 | 115 |
P1-22 | DA2 Digital Output 2 Function Select | N/A | 0: Drive Enabled (Running) | 0 ... 20 | RW | Y | N/A | 1 | 207Ah | 0 | 122 |

Motor Contactor Control Delay Time Parameters
When a run command is given to the drive the first step before running is for the motor contactors to close. This time can be adjusted in Parameter P3-01 to give sufficent time for the motor contactors to fully close.
Parameter Number | Parameter Name | Units | Default | Available Settings | Access | Change During Run | Scaling | Size (Bytes) | CAN Register | CAN Sub Index | Modbus Register |
